Carly is a registered architect with over Fifteen year's experience in Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and More. Carly is also the Founder Creative Director of Open House Perth, an organisation which facilitates Perth’s Largest yearly architecture and design weekend festival; promoting the importance of good design and Sustainability in our city.
In 2014 Carly established project857 with Stephen Corns as a collaborative design office Focused on delivering high quality projects with the goal to exceed client expectations. In 2011, Carly was awarded the Dulux Study Tour Prize, a national prize for emerging architects and in 2013, was the recipient of the Western Australian Emerging Architects prize for an “outstanding contribution to local architecture” and on behalf of Open House Perth, the recipient of the Premiers Australia Day Active Citizenship Award.
STEPHEN CORNS - DIRECTOR
Stephen also has over 15 years experience in practicing architecture in both Western Australia and the United Kingdom. His range of experience across design, documentation and delivery makes him an excellent all-rounder and a fantastic asset to the practice. His keen eye for detail, and role in design review help project857 to deliver design concepts that can be realistically implemented in small, medium and large scale projects.
Angie Rodrigues borges
Angie comes to the team with a strong background in research and Writing across a number of different fields. With a degree in Architecture and additional experience in Landscape Architecture, Angie is a core part of the Open House Perth team with a role that includes: Project Management, Resourcing, Research and Archiving.
Patrick giles
Our super awesome head visualiser who helps translate our designs into incredible images. Pat is not only a pretty cool dude, he is a self taught (respect) architectural visualiser who not only adds testosterone to the mix he is probably the most fashionable person we know.
IRENE CHAN
Irene has been working with Project857 for almost 3 years and has been developing skills as a project architect. Her Documentation, Client and Consultant Liaison skills are central to the delivery of successful projects. Combining her design and computer skills across several platforms Irene is an integral part of any p/857 Project team.
Mairi Galbraith
Mairi is currently completing her studies but has become an important part of the team thru her great 3-d rendering skills that capture Project857’s ethos of combining distinctive style with humour. Her knowledge across adobe and documentation programs are a huge asset to any project.
Shiah Nguyen
A recent graduate, Shiah combines skills across Physical Model and computer modelling across design development project stages. Curating our materials, Finishes and fixtures library, Shiah keeps us up to date with Environmentally Sustainable Products for our projects.
Riva-Jean Lander
Highly skilled at physical Model-making, Riva heads up all model-Making for project857. She also has a strong interest in research and writing on Architecture and Design.

Neil Barrett
after spending many many many years in the retail industry in many senior roles like chief operating officer, Neil - Son of Max, father of Carly is assisting p/857 with business development and strategy. Neil and Carly’s brother Zac are also the founders of Mo-Espresso, a local WA company with six Food and beverage Destinations (with Carly serving as design director for the company)
DARCY CORNS
Anybody who has visited the p/857 offices has met our little fur Baby Darcy. Her strategic roles in office security and Office Culture strategy keep us all safe and super happy. Darcy also been junior ambassador to Open House Perth since 2015.
Lilly CORNs
Certainly the youngest of the P/857 team, Lilly is the daughter of Carly and Stephen. Have staked a claim on the best desk in the office, lilly can be found building block towers and reviewing designs in her mums sketch book with heavy markers. What we do is in hope of making the world a better place for her, which makes her the most essential part of our team (at least in Mummy and Daddy’s eyes).
